Pam Raff
Director of the Raff Dance Studio, Pam Raff is a jazz tap dance Choreographer, Performer, Educator and Recording Artist. In a career spanning 3 decades she’s performed throughout the USA, in Europe and in Asia in venues ranging from concert stage and jazz club to television, radio and live streaming internet. Pam has collaborated with such music and dance greats as Alan Dawson, Dizzy Gillespie, Tierney Sutton, Patrice Williamson, Paul Arslanian, John Lockwood, Larry Kopp, Brenda Bufalino, Barbara Duffy, Gregory Hines, Jason Samuels Smith and Jimmy Slyde.
A recipient of Massachusetts Cultural Council and Boston Center for the Arts choreography awards, Pam was also a nominee for “Jazz Artist of the Year” by New England Foundation for the Arts, co-creator of “Jazz Youth Project” for the Boston Public Schools, and featured artist on the audio recording “Feet First”.
Currently in her 11th year as Visiting Artist at Mount Holyoke College, professor Raff has also been on the dance faculties of Roger Williams University, Boston University, and Brandeis University Masters in Theater Program.
Partner and protege of the late and legendary tapper Leon Collins, Pam’s interest lies in furthering the tradition and artistry of tap dance; training pre-professionals, offering group classes, and creating dances.
